Emergency vaccine booster national mission
On 12th December, the Prime Minister led the call for everyone to get the Covid vaccination booster dose, to help protect themselves, their loved ones and the NHS from the impact of the coming wave of Covid-19 Omicron variant. Since 15th December, 2020, the five practices of the North Cotswolds have continued to provide a local vaccination centre based at North Cotswold Hospital in Moreton in Marsh. We will continue to provide the booster programme through the coming weeks and make every effort to get our community protected before 31st December.
We have scheduled enough appointments over the next three weeks to ensure everyone who is eligible for the booster jab can have an appointment locally. The appointments include evenings, weekends and bank holidays as well as day time slots, to help everyone have access. We also have enough space to vaccinate those who have previously been hesitant to have the vaccine and would now like to have their first dose. We can also accommodate 2nd dose vaccinations for those who had their first dose before the end of October.
On Tuesday, 14th December, all those eligible will receive a text message inviting them to book an appointment. If you can do this on your mobile phone, then please follow the link and do so as soon as you can. If you do not have a smart phone, then please telephone our booking hub on 01608 692115. The opening hours have been extended to support this busy time from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We have found that most people have had little or no side effect from the third dose, so please do not delay because of the festive period.
Our wonderful local volunteers will be working through the next three weeks whatever the weather, to help keep people of our local community safe. Please come forward and get your vaccination.
